Some users have reported that they are unable to view recent phone calls (calls they have received or made) and/or missed calls because their iPhone 18 Pro is not showing their recent call history.
Your iPhone records all calls. Your call history, also called recent calls, has four viewing options: Calls, Missed, Unknown Callers, or Spam. The call history section (Calls tab) allows you to see a list of people (your contacts and other numbers) who have called you.
To view recent or missed calls on your iPhone 18 Pro:
- Go to the Phone app on your iPhone.
- Tap the Filter button, then tap Calls or Missed.
If you cannot see your call history on your iPhone 18 Pro, there are a few fixes that you may try. Sometimes, when you open Phone > Calls, you may see some of the calls, but not all of them. This problem can be very frustrating because, for instance, if you cannot see your missed calls, you do not know who called and you will not be able to return the call.
Please note that some recent calls and missed calls can be grouped if they are from the same person or number.
Please note that if Unknown Callers filtering is on, calls from unknown numbers are removed from your Recents list and sent to the Unknown Callers list. If Spam filtering is on, calls identified by your carrier as potential spam or fraud are silenced, sent to voicemail, and moved to the Spam list.
Missing recent calls on iPhone 18 Pro?
- Restart your iPhone: Try this first. Simply restart your device. Here is how you can do this:
- Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.
- Force close the Phone app and restart: You can quit the Phone app and reopen it. Here is how:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, pause in the center of the screen, then lift your finger. Swipe right to find the Phone app, then swipe up on it to quit it. To reopen it, go to the Home Screen or App Library, then tap the app.
- Update your iPhone: A new update may be available. Check for updates and make sure that your iPhone has the latest version of the iOS software. If not, a new update may fix this problem. You can easily update your iPhone wirelessly. On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- Check the filter: In the Phone app, tap the Filter button, then tap Calls.
- Enable and disable Airplane Mode: On your iPhone, go to Settings and turn on Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, and turn it off again.
- Reset network settings: On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset and then tap Reset Network Settings (you may have to enter your passcode). Note that resetting your network settings will erase your network settings like your Wi-Fi passwords etc.
- Reset all settings: If resetting network settings does not work, try resetting all settings. This will restore your device to the default settings. But your data and content will not be deleted. Simply go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings and then follow the onscreen instructions.
- Carrier settings update: You can check for an update. Go to Settings > General > About and if there is an update, a popup will appear. Simply follow the onscreen instructions.
