Apple Intelligence is available in beta for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 when your device language and Siri language are set to a supported language.

What to do if Apple Intelligence is not showing up

Make sure your device supports Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence is compatible with these devices.

Update your device

Apple Intelligence is available on iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, or macOS Sequoia 15.1.

  • To update your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  • To update your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click General in the sidebar, then click Software Update.

To get started with Apple Intelligence after you update your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings, tap Apple Intelligence & Siri, then tap Join the Apple Intelligence Waitlist.

To get started with Apple Intelligence after you update your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click Apple Intelligence & Siri , then click Join the Apple Intelligence Waitlist. You are notified as soon as Apple Intelligence is ready for your device.

Apple Intelligence is usually available for activation within a few hours of joining the waitlist, though wait times can vary. You will receive a notification when you can activate it on your device. On-device Apple Intelligence models will begin to download after activation.

Make sure your device language and Siri language are set to a supported language

Apple Intelligence is only available in U.S. English at this time, and it is not available to in the European Union (‌iPhone‌ and ‌iPad‌) or China. Device region and language need to be set to the United States.

To change the language on your iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap General
  3. Select Language & Region
  4. Tap Add Language
  5. Select English (US).
  6. Select English (US) as your primary language

To change Siri language:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri.
  2. Tap Language.
  3. Select English (United States)

After updating the device and Siri language,go to the main menu of settings and see if Apple Intelligence & Siri settings is available.

To change the system language on your Mac,:

  • Choose Apple menu > System Settings (the second option in the menu), click General in the sidebar, then click Language & Region . (You may need to scroll down.)
  • Under the Preferred Languages list at the top, add a language: Click the Add button, select English (US) in the list, then click Add (the button in the bottom-right corner of the dialog). To change the primary language to English (US) Drag English (US) to the top of the languages list.

Note: You may need to restart your Mac to see the change in all applications. Click Restart Now (the button on the right with red text) to restart your computer.

To change Siri language on your Mac:

  • Choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Apple Intelligence & Siri (or Siri ) in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  • Click the pop-up menu next to Language, then choose English)US).

Now check if Apple Intelligence is available in settings. If it’s available, turn it on. After you have turned on Apple Intelligence, it will continue to work when you travel to other regions around the world.

In iOS 18.2, localized English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK is supported in addition to U.S. English.

Apple plans to add support for additional languages in 2025, like Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Apple Intelligence will launch on the ‌iPhone‌ and the ‌iPad‌ in the European Union in April 2025.
