Are you unable to save screen recordings on your iPhone 18 Pro? Several iOS users have reported that they get the following error messages when they attempt to create a screen recording on the iPhone. There are two types of user reported error messages:

A-The first error message says:

Screen Recording failed to save due to: The operation couldn’t be completed. (Cocoa error -1.). This article explains what you can do to fix this problem.

B-The second error message is very similar. You may also get this error message saying:

Screen Recording failed to save due to: Failed to save recording

iOS has a built in audio and video screen recording feature (this means that you do not need to install additional apps). If you don’t see the Screen Recording control, add it to Control Center. Then open Control Center and tap the Screen Recording icon to record your screen. Your recordings will be saved to Photos.

Please note that when you experience this error, your recording will be gone. There is no way to find or recover your unsaved video or audio recordings.

The second error message appears because the video or content is protected or copyrighted. You will not be able to record protected or copyrighted movies or other content. This is not a bug; this is not Apple’s fault. This is working how it is supposed to work. Because you are not allowed to record everything.

If your recordings are not being saved because of the Cocoa error, then please try the following tips:

After you try each tip below, please check to see if your problem is fixed.

1-Update your iPhone 18 Pro to the latest version of iOS. You can do so by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

2-Restart your iPhone 18 Pro, you can turn off your device by going to Settings > General and scroll down and tap Shut Down. And then restart your device.

3-You may experience this problem on your iPhone because Low Power Mode is on (is the battery icon in the status bar yellow?). Plug in your device and charge it. Or you may want to turn it off by going to Settings > Battery > Power Mode.

4-If you have not enough space on your iPhone, the screen recording won’t be saved. You can check the storage by going to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. If this is the case, then you may want to remove unwanted apps and other content.

5-On your iPhone 18 Pro, go to Settings > Apps > Safari and scroll down and tap “Clear History and Website Data”. This will remove history, cookies and other data.

6-Force restart your device. Here is how:

  • Press and quickly release the volume up button. Press and quickly release the volume down button. Press and hold the side button. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.
