Some of our readers have reported that they are unable to turn on iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max. More specifically, it has been reported that the iPhone does not boot into iOS (iOS device will not start up) when it is connected to a power outlet.
When the iPhone 18 Pro is plugged in, the Apple logo appears for about 3 seconds, then disappears (blank screen) for about 2 seconds and this process (the Apple logo keeps flashing) repeats itself indefinitely.

1- First try to force-start your device. First make sure that your device is connected to a power source. Then:
- Press and quickly release the volume up button.
- Press and quickly release the volume down button.
- Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo (this might take longer than 10 seconds).
If your iPhone doesn’t turn on, charge your iPhone for one hour and then try again.
2-If you are still having this issue, then follow these steps:
- For this, you will need to use a computer, PC or Mac.
- Ensure your Mac is up to date. On PC, get the latest version of the Apple Devices app.
- Connect your iPhone to your computer with a USB cable.
- Open the Finder on your Mac, or open the Apple Devices app on your PC.
- Keep your iPhone connected and wait until the “Connect to computer” screen appears.
- Then:
- Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
- Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
- Press and hold the side button until you see the “Connect to computer” screen.
- Locate your iPhone on your computer.
- Choose Restore when the Update or Restore options appear. Restore reinstalls iOS and erases all your data. If you haven’t tried updating yet, try updating first.
