You can change the name of your AirPods using your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. When you’re signed in to the same Apple Account on multiple devices, the new name is updated across devices, so you only have to rename them on one.
Your AirPods do need to be connected to your device while you change the name, and the feature works with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, or later.
Here’s how to change the name of your AirPods.
- Wear your AirPods, and make sure they’re connected to your device.
- Do one of the following:
- iPhone or iPad: Go to the Settings app and then tap the name of your AirPods near the top of the screen. Tap the current name and then enter a new name.
- Mac: Go to the System Settings app and click the name of your AirPods in the sidebar (you may need to scroll down). Enter a new name.
