On HomePod, personal content requests are voice commands that use info from certain apps on your iPhone, like Messages, Reminders, Contacts, Calendar, and Notes, plus other apps you’ve installed that work with Siri. With HomePod, you can also find your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch, and locate friends who share their location with you in Find My.
Make personal content requests
Siri: Ask Siri something like:
- Messages
- “Send a message to Anuj saying that I’ll bring the vacuum cleaner with me.”
- “Read my unread messages.”
- “Read my messages from Kim.”
- Reminders
- “Remind me to buy garlic.”
- “Remind me to call Mom on Tuesday.”
- “What’s on my shopping list?”
- “Mark ‘water the plants’ as complete.”
- Notes
- “Add a note called ‘birthday presents.'”
- “Add Twain to my ‘favorite authors’ note.”
- Calendar
- “What’s on my calendar for today?”
- “When is my meal with Edwina?”
- “What time is my first meeting tomorrow?”
- “Add an appointment to my calendar on Monday at 9 a.m. called ‘marketing presentation.'”
Find your devices
HomePod can find your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch when it’s connected to the same network as HomePod. And if you’ve set up Family Sharing, it can find your family’s devices, too.
Siri: Activate Siri, then see the ideas below for requests you can make.
- “Where is my iPhone?”
- “Ping my iPad.”
- “Find Lisa’s watch.”
Locate your friends
When your friends and family share their location with you in the Find My app, HomePod can help you locate them. Just ask Siri something like “Where’s Will?”
This guide is for HomePod software version 27 or later.
