Some users have said that they are not able to print documents, messages, or photos because AirPrint is not working. They further said that this problem started after updating their iPhones to iOS 26. Users have said that when they attempt to print anything, the print screen does not show the AirPrint connected printer; thus users are unable to select their printers. Some said they see a “No AirPrint Printers Found” or “No Printer Selected” error when they want to print something. In this article, I’ll explain what to do if AirPrint is not working after iOS 26 update.
AirPrint is technology created by Apple that makes it easier for Mac, iPhone, and iPad users to print photos and other documents over Wi-Fi. To use an AirPrint-enabled printer, you don’t need to install an app, additional drivers, or other software. You can print websites, images, documents, and more.
Even though the AirPrint technology works smoothly, printing problems may occur. Follow the troubleshooting steps below the diagnose and fix the real reason why AirPrint is not working after iOS 26 update!
Make sure that your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network as your printer
Connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network, then make sure that your iPhone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network. To check the name of Wi-Fi your iPhone is connected to, go to Settings > Wi-Fi. To check the name of Wi-Fi your printer is connected to, check the printer’s documentation or contact the printer’s manufacturer.
Next, do this:
- Open the email or document that you want to print on your iPhone.
- The exact printing method varies slightly from app to app. Look for the app’s "share" feature, which will generally be found by tapping the "Reply" arrow (in the Mail app), the square with an upward arrow (such as in Safari and Photos), or the three-dot menu (in many other apps).
- Tap "Print" button. (If you don’t see the Print option, it may be hidden behind the More button in the share sheet.)
- Tap "Select Printer" and wait for the list of nearby AirPrint printers to appear in the list.
- Tap the printer you want to use.
- Select any print options you desire,
such as the number of copies, and paper size. - Tap "Print."
Restart Your iPhone, Printer, And Wireless Router
The first thing you should do if AirPrint is not working after iOS 26 update is to restart your devices. First, restart your iPhone. There are two different ways to restart your iPhone depending on which model you have:
- iPhones with a Home button: Press and hold the power button until the "slide to power off" slider appears on the display. Drag the power icon left-to-right to shut down your iPhone. Wait a few seconds, then press and hold the power button again until the Apple logo appears on the center of the screen.
- iPhones with Face ID: Simultaneously press and hold the side button and either volume button until "slide to power off" appears on the screen. Drag the power icon from left-to-right to turn off your iPhone. To turn your iPhone back on, press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
Next, restart your printer and router. The process of restarting your printer and router are pretty easy. Unplug them from the power outlet, then plug them back in. That’s it! Does Air Print work now? If not, move onto the next solution.
Disable VPN
If you are using a VPN on your iPhone, it may interfere with AirPrint technology. A VPN may be causing your problem. If the steps above do not fix your problem, disable your VPN and then try again. Sometimes, disabling VPN may not be enough. You may need to delete the VPN profile as well.
Update Your iPhone (And Printer If Possible)
It’s important to make sure that you always keep your iPhone and printer up to date with the latest versions their software. Using devices with outdated software can cause a variety of issues!
First, go to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone to see if a new version of iOS 26 is available. Tap Update Now if there’s a new iOS 26 update.
Check your printer manufacturer’s website to see if an update is available, or if your printer can even be updated. Not every printer has software that can be updated.
Reset network settings
If air print is still not working, reset your network settings. When you do this, it essentially erases all the Wi-Fi, VPN, APN, and Cellular settings on your iPhone and restores them to factory defaults. This, however, does not delete your data or content, such as your photos or apps. On your iPhone, head to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings and then follow the onscreen instructions.
