This article explains what you can do when you cannot use captive Wi-Fi networks on your iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max. Captive Wi-Fi hotspots let you use the Internet in public places such as coffee shops, Internet cafes, hotels, airports, and other public locations. Captive networks require users to provide additional log-in information in order to connect. When you use captive Wi-Fi networks, fees and other charges might apply. One problem that users are experiencing is that the login screen just never loads even though your iPhone’s Wi-Fi icon indicates that you are connected. Ideally, you are supposed to be redirected to the login popup page where you will see an authorization page and this is where you accept that place’s (airport, coffee shop etc) Wi-Fi terms & conditions before browsing the Internet. 1. Restart your iPhone. Here is how:
- Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
- Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off.
- To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.
2. Clear history, cookies and web site data. Here is how:
- Tap Settings > Apps > Safari, scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data.
- Confirm the timeframe that you want to clear, then tap Clear History.
3. Reset your network settings. This resets all Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings. Here is how:
- Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
4. Try forcing the sign-in/acceptance screen to open. This easy trick may solve your problem. Here is how:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Tap the name of the network, then wait for a login screen to appear.
- Or tap the More Info button next to the network’s name, then tap Join Network.
- Enter a user name and password, enter an email address, or acknowledge terms and conditions, if asked.
5. Try Private mode in your browser. Here is how you can turn on private browsing on your iPhone:
- Go to the Safari app on your iPhone.
- Tap the Tabs button.
- Swipe right on the tab bar at the bottom of the screen until Private Browsing opens, then tap Unlock.
