A lot of iPhone 18 Pro users seem to be experiencing Wi-Fi connectivity problems from time to time. In this article, we provide a list of solutions that just might help you resolve your connectivity issues and get you back online again if your iPhone 18 Pro won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network that your other devices connect to without problems.
If you can’t connect to Wi-Fi on your iPhone 18 Pro, then check your Wi-Fi settings or troubleshoot network issues.
If you can connect other devices to the Wi-Fi network, then the router and network are working, and the fault is on your iPhone 18 Pro. After each tip, check to see if the connection problem has been solved.
Please before you do anything, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and make sure that Wi-Fi is turned on. Make sure that you haven’t accidentally turned it off. Yes, it happens. Tap the name of your Wi-Fi network to join. A blue checkmark beside a network name means that you’re connected. Furthermore, please make sure that you are entering the correct password when you are trying to connect.
1. Check Auto-Join for that network
Your iPhone can be set to skip a single network while connecting to every other one normally. To check, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap Edit in the corner of the screen to view the networks known to your device, tap the More Info button next to your network, and make sure Auto-Join is turned on.
2. Check the Private Wi-Fi Address setting
By default, your iPhone uses a different MAC address for each Wi-Fi network. This unique MAC address is your device’s private Wi-Fi address, which it uses for only that network. A private Wi-Fi address doesn’t affect how you join or use most Wi-Fi networks, but businesses and other organizations might need to update their Wi-Fi network security to work with private addresses.
This is worth checking on your iPhone 18 Pro when other devices connect to the same network without trouble, particularly if the network uses MAC filtering. Before you turn it off, install the latest software updates, then try again.
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
- Tap the More Info button next to your network.
- Tap Private Wi-Fi Address and choose Off, then try connecting again.
If this fixes it, ask whoever manages the router whether the network filters by MAC address.
3. Forget the Wi-Fi network and reconnect
Forgetting your Wi-Fi network may fix this. Please make sure you have your network name and your Wi-Fi password handy before you attempt this. Here is how:
- Open Settings, then tap Wi-Fi.
- Tap the More Info button next to the network you’re using.
- Tap Forget This Network, then tap Forget to confirm.
Now again go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the Wi-Fi network and try connecting again.
4. Turn Airplane Mode on and off
This is again a simple but effective tip. I often do this whenever I have a connection problem, including cellular connection problems. On your iPhone, go to Settings and turn on Airplane Mode. Wait five seconds and then turn it off.
5. Restart your iPhone 18 Pro
This is simple but effective. If the Wi-Fi setting is dimmed (grayed out), restart your device. Here is how you can do this:
- Go to Settings > General > Shut Down, drag the power-off slider, then wait 30 seconds for your iPhone to turn off.
- To turn it back on, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
6. Check for VPN and security software
If you have security or VPN software installed, temporarily uninstall the software (don’t just disable), restart your device, then test again. Here is how to delete an app:
- Touch and hold the app.
- Tap Remove App.
- Tap Delete App, then tap Delete to confirm.
If uninstalling the security or VPN software fixes the issue, but you must use the software, contact your VPN manager or security software provider for help.
7. Update your iPhone 18 Pro
Update the iOS software. A bug may be causing this issue and it is also possible that there is an update already. You can check for updates by going to Settings > General > Software Update. If there is an update available, tap Download and Install.
8. Reset network settings
Resetting the network settings on your iPhone 18 Pro will clear out anything potentially interfering with your Wi-Fi connectivity. Resetting causes all network settings to be removed, including your home, work, and school network configurations. Reset network settings only if other solutions fail. If a school or business configures your network, consult with IT or the network administrator before you reset the network. To do this:
- Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. If asked, enter your passcode.
Note that resetting network settings also gives your iPhone a different private Wi-Fi address the next time it joins the network.
To see if you have an issue with only your own Wi-Fi network, try connecting to Wi-Fi in a different location.
So, you tried everything above and still have connectivity issues. If this is the case, you have two options left:
- Contact your internet service provider.
- If your iPhone 18 Pro can’t connect to any Wi-Fi network, contact Apple.
