Why Does My Apple Watch Battery Drain So Fast? Here’s The Real Fix!Did you lose your Apple Watch: Apple Watch Ultra, or Apple Watch SE? If you want to find your dead Apple Watch, then this guide is for you. Because the Apple Watch is out of battery, it won’t be able to transmit the signal needed to display its location. However, you can still use the Find My app to find its last known location and place it in Lost Mode in case it’s found by someone else. This guide will show you how to locate your dead Apple Watch using the Find My app on your iPhone.

How to Find an Apple Watch if It’s Dead?

Find My is the only way that you can find a dead Apple Watch. If Find My isn’t enabled on your watch before it died, there is no other Apple service that can find, track, or otherwise flag your device for you.

Find My can help you locate your dead Apple Watch. If you already set up Find My on your paired iPhone, it’s automatically set up on your Apple Watch and any Apple Watch paired using Family Setup.

So if your watch is lost or stolen, you can use Find My to help you find it again. And thanks to Activation Lock, your Apple Account and password are required before anyone can erase your Apple Watch and use it with their iPhone.

When you use Find My:

  • Apple Watch with GPS and cellular can use GPS and a trusted Wi-Fi or cellular connection to show you its approximate location.
  • Apple Watch with GPS can use GPS and a trusted Wi-Fi connection to show its approximate location.
  • Apple Watch Series 1 doesn’t have GPS, so you’ll find the location of your paired iPhone or its Wi-Fi connection.

Locate an Apple Watch Using the Find My App

You can use Find My on your iPhone to see the last location of your Apple Watch before it died. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Find My app on your iPhone.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Select your Apple Watch to find it on the map.

Note: The location of the watch will only be visible for a very brief period of time. If you miss that short window, you’ll only see the location of the device your Apple Watch was paired to on the map, not the Apple Watch.

Using Lost Mode

When your watch is in Lost Mode, your passcode is required before anyone can turn off Find My, erase your watch, or pair it with another iPhone. When the person who finds your Apple Watch gives it a charge, they’ll see your phone number on the screen. The finder can then contact you to arrange the safe return of your Apple Watch.

How to Activate Lost Mode for an Apple Watch

  1. Open the Find My app on your iPhone.
  2. Select Devices tab.
  3. Select your Apple Watch.
  4. Under Lost Apple Watch, tap Lost Mode to enable additional protection.
  5. Tap Continue.
  6. Enter a phone number where you can be reached, then tap Next.
  7. Enter a message that you want to show on the watch screen for the person who finds it.
  8. Tap Activate.
  9. Your Apple Watch will now be locked. When it is powered on again, it will display your custom message and phone number to the finder.

Find My sends you an email message to confirm that you put your Apple Watch in Lost Mode.

If your device is offline, the contact information you entered for Lost Mode will appear when your Apple Watch is back online.

The finder will have to charge and turn on the Apple Watch to see the displayed message.

If you find your missing Apple Watch, tap Unlock on your watch, then enter your passcode. Lost Mode will automatically turn off, and you can start using your watch again as normal.

Retracing Your Steps

Think about the places you last used your Apple Watch. To find things you lost, you’ll need to think back on every place you might have used it.
This could be a store, a classroom at school, a room in your house, or another place.

Get help in your search. Expand your search by enlisting the help of friends or family, especially if you have multiple places to check.

Search common lost object areas. If you suspect your Apple Watch may still be in your house, check underneath couch cushions, under your bed, or behind other furniture. If you think it may be in your car, search underneath the floormats, trunk, and in the space between the center console and seats.
If you still can’t find your Apple Watch, you may need to purchase a new watch.
