If you’d rather not enter text with the Apple TV 4K remote, you can set up a nearby iPhone or iPad to share its keyboard whenever a text field appears. A notification shows up on your device, and the text you type appears in the text field on Apple TV 4K.
Just make sure the iPhone or iPad and Apple TV 4K are both signed in with the same Apple Account. Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi need to be enabled on the iPhone or iPad, too. If you don’t want to use it, keyboard notifications can be switched off on your device.
Note: The iPhone or iPad must meet certain requirements.
