We receive numerous emails from iPhone 18 Pro Max users saying their devices show “No Service” even if cellular connection is available. Users further state that their phones randomly drop a cellular data connection and their phones have no signal bars. If your device keeps losing signal and poor cell connection, try the following tips:

  1. Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS. Simply go to Settings > General > Software Update, then tap Download and Install.
  2. Turn cellular data off and on. Go to Settings > Cellular. Tap to turn Cellular Data off and on, then verify that service bars have replaced the status message.
  3. Turn on Airplane Mode for at least 15 seconds and then turn it off (Settings > Airplane Mode).
  4. Restart your iPhone. To do that, press and hold the Side button and either volume button together until the power-off slider appears. Then drag the slider and wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. Then press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.
  5. Check your cellular line. Go to Settings > Cellular. Tap the cellular line you’d like to review and check to see if it is turned on. If the cellular line is off, tap Turn On This Line. Then check to see if you have service.
  6. If you’re traveling internationally, make sure that your device is set up for data roaming. Go to Settings > Cellular. If your device has a single SIM card or eSIM, turn on Cellular Data, then tap Cellular Data Options. If your device uses Dual SIM or Dual eSIM, turn on Cellular Data, tap the number you want to modify, then tap Cellular Data Options. Turn on Data Roaming.
  7. This can be a carrier issue (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon etc). There are two things you can do. The first thing is to update your carrier settings on your iPhone. You can do this by going to Settings > General > About (make sure that you have a Wi-Fi connection). If an update is available, you will see an option to update your carrier settings. The other thing you can do is to make sure that there are no issues with your carrier. Check in with your carrier about your account. Maybe your account is cancelled, suspended? Maybe your payment is late? Maybe your carrier is having temporary network problems that it is trying to fix? Make sure that you’re in an area with cellular network coverage and there are no outages in your area. Check that your device isn’t blocked or barred from receiving cellular services and is set up with the right data plan. Ask if your local government requires IMEI registration to use an iPhone that you originally purchased outside your country or region. Contact your carrier. You may want to call them to inquire about this so that your account is active.
  8. Reset your network settings. Please note that this will reset your Wi-Fi passwords etc. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

If you still see “No Service” after following these steps, you may want to have your iPhone 18 Pro Max examined by Apple. Simply make a Genius Bar reservation. Or you can report this to Apple.
