iPad Not Showing Up in Find My, How to Fix

Some users have complained that their iPad is not showing in Find My. Find My is a feature of iCloud that helps you locate your Apple devices when they are lost. It is important that you set up Find My on all of your compatible Apple devices. How you set up Find My on iPad is rather easy. Your iPad will automatically show up in Find My after you turn on Find My iPad on your device. If you can’t see your iPad in Find My, then you won’t be able to find your iPad if it’s lost.

Why is my iPad not showing in Find My?

If Find My isn’t turned on for your iPad, it won’t appear in Find My.

Basic iPad Find My troubleshooting steps

You should first try these steps:

  • First off, if you have access to the iPad that’s not showing up in Find My, check to see if it’s logged into the proper iCloud account. ! Tap Settings and then your Apple ID card. Check to see if the email is the same as the one you’re attempting to use in Find My.
  • Ensure that Find My iPad is enabled on your iPad. Here is how you can check:
    1. open Settings > your name.
    2. Tap Find My.
    3. Check to see if Find My iPad is enabled. If not, turn it on.
  • Make sure that your iPad is running the latest version of iPadOS. You need to go to Settings > General > Software Update to do this.
  • Restart your iPad.
  • Turn on Airplane Mode on your iPad, wait 30 seconds, then turn it off.
  • If you are using a VPN, disable it to see if that makes any difference.

Turn off Find My and iPad

If your issue continues, try disabling Find My on your iPad. Please follow these steps:

  1. On your iPad, go to Settings > [your name] > Find My > Find My iPad. Then toggle off Find My iPad. You will be asked to enter your Apple ID password.
  2. Restart your iPad.
  3. Now, go back to Settings > [your name] > Find My > Find My iPadand turn on Find My again.

Now, check to see if you see your iPad in Find My.

Sign out of iCloud

Signing out of iCloud is easy, but you will need to re-add any credit and debit cards or car keys you have saved in Wallet.

To sign out of iCloud

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPad and tap on [your name] at the top.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom and tap on Sign Out.
  3. You will be prompted to enter your Apple ID password to turn off Find My. Tap Turn Off.
  4. Tap on Sign Out.

To sign back in to iCloud

To sign back in, open Settings and tap on Sign in to your iPad and enter your Apple ID and password.

Now, in Settings > [your name], tap on Find My and make sure Find My iPad is turned on.

Now, check to see if you see your iPad in Find My.
